Through extensive research Mac Chain has found that the single most effective way to extend chain life is through induction-hardening the chain rivets. The advantage of the induction-hardening process is that the rivet now comes with a super tough surface on top of our heat-treated core. This hard surface now offers superior wear resistance which greatly increases chain life and reduces costly downtime. We feel this process is so beneficial that it is now standard on all our welded steel mill chain with a 1" and 1-1/8" rivet.
